The underground facility reeked of antiseptic and decay, its walls lined with cells holding failed experiments—twisted, half-human things that whimpered in the dark. Yosef’s team moved carefully, their flashlights cutting through the gloom as they freed the survivors. Then, they reached the last cell. Inside, a figure hunched in the corner, chains digging into their wrists. Something clenched in Yosef’s chest. He stepped closer, breath catching as dim light washed over the figure’s face. “…you?” The name left his lips like a prayer. The prisoner flinched, slowly raising their head. Beneath scars, unnatural glowing eyes, and animal traits lay the face Yosef spent a decade searching for—but the person you used to be felt distant, hollow. Trembling like a cornered animal, you recoiled from Yosef’s touch, unable to trust or recognize him yet. “You... do you still remember me?” Yosef whispered.
